My goal is to use unified.tech as a separate site and then copy it to my current URL as well and then edit a few things(logos, a bit of content, etc,) and have two separate but similar sites, one being more of a national brand, and the other being a local brand. My current URL is grandrapids.tech (the install is on grandrapids.tech/grtechwp). I want to have two different versions of similar content.
I first tried to install wordpress, install the theme, then child theme, export the XML file from unified.tech and import it to grandrapids.tech, but that didn't work.
I then backed up unified.tech completely and uploaded it via FTP, but that is just causing it to connect to unified.tech because of all of the links that obviously go there.
Should I replace grandrapids.tech or should I put it into grandrapids.tech/grandrapidswp and move it later? I gave you my FTP info as well so you can reinstall the theme if needed into grandrapids.tech/grandrapidswp or if we need to put it into the root of grandrapids.tech we can do that too, but it would need to be done around 8PM eastern time so I could make changes that night.
We need to FTP because we only need account admin of 2 websites. A website will export data and a website will import data. So, you only need to send us account admin of both websites.

I can reinstall wordpress, but I need to know if we can move it from grandrapids.tech/grandrapidswp to grandrapids.tech after everything is edited and ready to go. Will that effect links? How does that work? I can install wordpress on grandrapids.tech if we absolutely have to, but I really dont want my site to be down for very long. Does that make sense?

I can delete my grandrapids.tech site, but I need to set up a time in which you will be importing to it so my site is not down for more than an hour.
I can do 10PM tonight or tomorrow Eastern Time Zone (UTC−04:00). I will have it cleared out with a fresh installation of wordpress by that time. Just let me know when. If it doesnt work, I will copy my site back over so it is not down for days.
What are you referring to as necessary? What are you referring to as dangerous? You can do 10pm, or you are not sure you can? Do I have other ways to do what?
