This is weird. I upgraded the Wordpress to 4.5 and the WP Visual Composer to 4.11.2.1. Now, stuff is not working anymore. My portfolio will not play my youtube videos. And nothing happens when try clicking the edit-option for an element in the Backend-/Frondend Editor.
Another thing (maybe related): I got an email from Evanto Market saying my Demeter theme update is available in my Downloads. The only Demeter Theme I see in my Downloads is the old one I bought almost two years ago. I tried intstaling it on my wordpress acount but got this message (attaced picture). My suspicion is that this is the same old Demeter theme and not the updated one..?

However, the first issue still remains. Do you have any idea why my Visual Composer will not edit on my MacBook, but works fine on my stationary Mac Pro?

Oh, this is problem of Visual Composer. All themes are same. We can't help you this problem.
