Whats the reason to add "learn blog" to pages with no title, and how can you override it on a page by page basis?

For the record, "Learn Blog" doesn't really make sense....

Here's the homepage URL, presumably better logic (rather than use "Learn Blog") would be to use the site title, or site strapline?

Here's a blog post page, where better logic would be the post title: https://webmarketingschool.com/2015-best-seo-tools/

And finally, here is a Page, where the logic IS correct, as it displays the page title: https://webmarketingschool.com/white-hat-seo-guide/technical/

So the question is:  How can I adjust the behavior so that the correct title appears on the homepage, and on post pages, not the string "Learn Blog".

I dropped that functions.php into the child theme folder, its killed the site.

Can you check the code? I'll try in the parent folder in the meantime.

Moved it into the parent folder: SUCCESS.

Installed Loco Translate, and changed the homepage: SUCCESS.
